Ember of Vael
★★★★★ 4.6
Ember of Vael is the kind of RPG that respects your time on a phone. Battles are turn-based and can be sped up, but the writing is strong enough that I stopped skipping dialogue after the first hour. Your party members bicker, change, and occasionally make choices you don't agree with.
Progression is generous without being mindless. You unlock skill trees at a steady pace, and gear matters without demanding hours of grinding. I played most of it in twenty-minute chunks and never felt lost coming back.
The only real gripe is a slightly cluttered menu, but once you learn where things live, it fades into the background. A rare mobile RPG that feels made for the platform, not squeezed into it.
